This is some interesting news that I just read. The Japanese government’s Headquarters for the Abduction Issue is developing a half hour anime film about Megumi Yokota. Yokota is a 13 year old Japanese girl who was kidnapped by agents of the North Korean government back in 1977.
The anime will be based off the manga “Megumi” The manga was created in 2004 by Souichi Moto so its not to old. Its also nice to know that the manga had input from Megumi Yokota’s parents and I’m sure the anime will as well. The anime will be released on dvd and will be available online for free and not just in Japanese it will also be available in English!
After reading about this I found it to be sorta weird to have a anime and manga based off of something like this, but back in the 1970’s and 80’s North Korea had kidnapped at least 13 Japanese citizens. North Korea planed to use them to train there people to act Japanese which I would of been for military purposes.
I would like to check this out when it comes online and will post a link to it once its out.

1This is a great news.
I heard about this inccidents about north korean spies kidnapping japanese teenagers in Jp class last month.
This anime should really be made in order to stand against the abduction phenomenon.
